History of Establishment
Taiwan Koji Pottery originated from Yen Lin-Zi (Ye Wang) at the end of Qing Dynasty. Yen and Lin Tien-Mu, who has been devoted to modern development of Koji Pottery skill, were both natives of Chiayi Therefore, this city held the 1st Koji Festival in 1997 to regather these cultural assets, Koji Potteries of Taiwan mostly originated from Chiayi district, thus the art has become the theme of the art industry in this city. Hence, Chiayi is regarded as the hometown of Koji Pottery. This Museum was officially opened on May 13,2000.
