Laozi was traveling westward on an ultramarine bull when he passed by the Hangu Pass and met Yin Xi, the Chief Director of the Pass. Yin Xi saw purple air coming from East the day before and knew that a saint would come. So he waited there for the whole day. He finally met Laozi who passed by riding on a ultramarine bull. He hospitably invited Laozi to his home and earnestly requested him to teach and leave his books behind. Laozi wrote down five thousand words, which is the world renowned “Laozi” or the “Moral Classics”. Yin Xi left the pass with Laozi and headed towards Liushao afterwards. Both of them ascended to heaven together.
